FAQ

Which compression level should I choose?

There are four levels: no compression, fast, normal and maximum; normal is the default. Higher levels usually make text-like files smaller but take longer. Files that are already compressed (images, videos, ZIPs, Office documents and so on) are stored as-is by default, because compressing them again barely reduces their size.

Will Japanese, Chinese or Korean file names display correctly?

File names are stored as UTF-8 and the UTF-8 flag is set on every entry. Unzip tools that support this flag show the names correctly; older tools that ignore the flag may still garble them.

Can I zip a folder?

For now, open the folder, select all files inside and add them. Dropping a folder itself shows a message that it cannot be read.

Are there size limits?

Up to 1,000 files and 1 GB in total per archive. You can add files in several batches before creating the ZIP.

Can I add a password?

Not yet. Archives created here are not encrypted.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Zipping happens in your browser and your files never leave your device.
